A circus was travelling through Ireland, and stopped to
perform for the
weekend on a Saturday afternoon.
Some of the acrobats went to the local parish for Confession.
One young
girl was depressed because she had succumbed to the temptation of the
flesh
and was sure of her eternal damnation.
There were the usual parish regulars at the church, including the old
crones
that would kneel in the back watching everyones penance before they
confessed.
The acrobat entered the confessional, revealed her sin to the Father
and was
ecstatic to learn she was absolved of damnation. She was so excited
she
left the confessional doing cartwheels.
At this, one crone turned to the others and said, "Will you look what
the
Father's handing out for penance, and me I didn't wear me drawers.
